Alright, Let’s Go! Wait…Where?

Updated: Jan 17

One thing I want to make clear here, is that no two journeys are alike. We are all divinely unique in our histories, talents, world-views, aspirations, contributions, and needs. That being the case, there really is no way to say what step is the right first step for everyone. We can, however, remove our personal selves from the decision and put it into more abstract terms.

Over the years, as I learned and acquired different skillsets, I noticed that the foundational aspect which unified them all, was Alignment. So, let’s all take a confident step toward Alignment, knowing that it is an ancient and tested principle which will allow for ease of movement through our lives.

What does this look like, EXACTLY?

This is where you put yourself back into the equation, and where our paths diverge in exciting and unlimited ways!

Personally, I’d like to align myself with broad goals relating to this Holistic Health endeavor, and really focus on building up the health of the community and environment around me. To do this, a recommitment to yoga and obtaining a teaching certification are my priorities. Not only will this align me both physiologically within my own body, but within my community as well through giving free yoga classes at our local community center (look for upcoming class schedule on calendar!). My hope is that over the next few weeks, as I dive deeper into my yoga and meditation practice, it will become apparent to me what steps I can take that include an environmental focus. I know I’m passionate about healthy waterways, and hope that by the new lunar year (Feb 10) I’ll have more ideas about how to help on that front here in beautiful Maryland.

What would Alignment with YOUR goals look like if you fleshed it out a little? Whatever your outer Alignment may be directed toward, I truly hope you try yoga and meditation for your inner physical, spiritual, and mental Alignment. In fact, if you don’t yet know which passions to focus on, simply putting the practice into yoga and meditation will “still the waters of your mind” enough for the answers to come to you. Simply standing in Tadasana (Mountain Pose), and focusing on the Alignment of your entire self from the depths of the earth, up your spine through the crown of your head, and outward into the heavens above, will enable you to breathe and think more clearly. Give yourself the gift of Alignment this week. It’s a “step” that doesn’t even require you to go anywhere!
